ring from world war II

this ring was found during excavation of scrapped iron on former location of world war II in Numfor island, Biak Numfor regency, papua province,in about 1,5 - 2m deepness together with guns,sword,curved blade and bayonet. the characteristic of the ring as follows: red stone, american flag on side, inside of the ring carved the name G.P. ON STERLING and number 1- 40F101, there is a number before 4 but it is hard to read. if anyone interesting to have this ring or if this ring is once belong to
